Palworld Developer Addresses Concerns Regarding Delayed Updates

The Palworld team boss has fired back at fans who told Pocketpair to "just hire more staff" to make updates faster. He said that this kind of thought could really hurt the firm's way of working. Many gamers wish Pocketpair could be quicker; some even say the team won't spend cash—making one of the game's devs step in.

Palworld is a huge hit indie game known as "Pokemon with guns." It pulls players into a group, open-space game where they try to stay alive and make stuff. It mixes catching critters with making bases, fights, and looking around, all in a fun setting. Though Palworld has kept up with updates, the top game world has made players think updates should come fast. Now, many think that Pocketpair should get patches out faster, seeing how much money the game has made.

On Twitter, John Buckley, the man who speaks for the Palworld group, used words from a PC Gamer piece about a GamesRadar+ talk with him. He talked about how much time it takes to make a single island for a Palworld update. He hit back at fans who said the studio should just put in more money to make it faster, noting that these are often the same fans who later don't like it when firms get big and "corporate."

Buckley said that Pocketpair could get more people to help with future Palworld updates, but that might change the "company culture," which helped them make a hit game at the start. In another tweet, he said that the company aims to "make games in a lasting way" without using all its money on hiring lots of people—because that's how "game firms end up in the usual mess and get shady." He closed the talk by asking the crowd to "let devs work" and told eager fans to play other games while they wait for new Palworld content.

Many fans stand by Buckley. They said they'd rather wait for a good product than get something quick but poor. For now, while some fans still gripe, others try to help Pocketpair. They're launching a push to make Nintendo stop its legal clash against Palworld.
