Mariah Carey is giving her followers a renewed sense of Christmas cheer! The "All I Want For Christmas" singer has confirmed that she will play the last leg of her Christmas tour after postponing three gigs due to a recent flu episode.
Carey told her fans on Instagram Monday that she was thrilled to be performing at the season's final event at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. "Thank you, Lambs, for making this Christmas so memorable ❤️ In reference to her performance on December 17, she tweeted, "I've loved singing with you every night, and I can't wait to see you all tomorrow in Brooklyn for the show of the tour."
After contracting the flu earlier in the month, Carey was forced to postpone her performances at Belmont Park, Newark, and Pittsburgh. She apologized to ticket holders and offered them complete refunds after sharing the news on X (previously Twitter), expressing her disappointment.
While "Christmas Time Is In The Air Again," Carey joked on Instagram that the germs that caused her illness were also in the air, keeping the festive spirit alive despite her health setback. "But let's maintain our optimism," she continued.
A labor of love, Carey collaborated closely with famed choreographer Debbie Allen on her Christmas tour, which was revealed in August. She had hinted that there will be some fresh surprises on the tour, such as duets and songs she had never performed before.
Carey commemorated yet another milestone on Monday: her classic song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has now been at the top of the charts for 16 weeks in a row, tying her other famous song "One Sweet Day." Carey said, "Best news to wake up to as I prepare for the last show of the tour tomorrow!!!!" on her Instagram Stories to express her pleasure about this accomplishment.
As Carey concludes her joyous tour with a Christmas celebration unlike any other, fans can anticipate an incredible performance.
